Catherine enjoys helping individuals set reasonable expectations and develop specific strategies to attain their personal goals. She helps clients identify and draw upon their own strengths to heal emotional wounds and experience positive change. She uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-focused Therapy to help individuals gain immediate and life-long coping skills. By developing these skills, individuals can better handle future challenges, experience personal growth, and enjoy healthier relationships.

Chantel has a Master’s degree in Community Counseling from Texas A&M at Commerce and a Bachelors of Business Administration degree is from the University of North Texas. She has worked in several inpatient hospitals, and those hospitals that have allowed her the experience to counsel military soldiers, clients with suicidal thoughts or attempts, people struggling with chronic addiction issues, and people with psychosis and bizarre behaviors. Those experiences helped her develop and hone effective counseling techniques and become familiar with counseling people of all walks of life. She has specialized in trauma informed care and with those struggling with PTSD. Trauma could be anything from grief, loss of a marriage or loved one, or abuse or domestic violence.
She understands that life brings unexpected transitions. During these transitions people sometimes need someone to help facilitate change, someone to listen without judgment, or voice their thoughts in order to gain a fresh perspective. She believes the goal in counseling is to help those in crisis, navigate through grief, anger, confusion, and those who feel out of control gain control. Her therapy approach is eclectic. She uses Bowen Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and a humanistic approach to counseling. She enjoys working with both adolescents and adults.

Sometimes we just need guidance during transitions in our lives, whether it be relationship issues, parenting or family changes. Are you going through a separation/divorce, or going through a personal crisis? Do you feel overwhelmed and need help finding your way?
Together we can set up goals and work on skills to help you develop life-long coping skills. Andrea believes in creating a calm, approachable and non-judgmental space for clients to share their personal stories.
In sessions, she helps you feel empowered and you will always be heard. In building an honest and supportive relationship together, we can explore healthy ways to cope with life's challenges.
